The common clinical manifestations of COVID-19 include fever, cough, fatigue, sputum production, shortness of breath, sore throat, and headache. In addition, a few COVID-19 patients also show gastrointestinal symptoms like diarrhea and vomiting.
Although studies have indicated that fever is the dominant symptom, some severely or critically ill patients may have moderate, low, or even no significant fever. Therefore, undue emphasis should not be placed on a patient’s body temperature for disease evaluation in clinical treatment and daily screening.
