U.S. President Donald Trump and members of the U.S. Coronavirus Task Force delivered an update on the government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic on Thursday.

When asked about the large number of COVID-19 cases in the U.S., Trump said he was not concerned that the U.S. had surpassed China as the country with the highest number of cases, claiming the numbers were “a tribute” to the testing of “tremendous numbers of people.”

Trump also spoke about reports the U.S. government had stationed troops at the country’s border with Canada, appearing to suggest the decision was an effort at “equal justice” because of the strong troop presence along the southern border.

As of March 26, there were 83,507 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the United States.
